Many people who want to visit St Michael's Mount, the rocky island topped by an ancient mediaeval castle off the coast of South West Cornwall, wonder where would be the best place to stay. The answer is the beautiful seaside town of Marazion.

When you walk around Marazion you can't help but be filled with an appreciation of the beautiful island of Saint Michael's Mount facing you across the bay, but all this while enjoying the simplicity of life, and accessibility of a thriving seaside town. The thing you quickly come to understand when you spend any time at St. Michael's Mount is that access to the place is subject to the tides. You can walk there over a causeway when the tide is low, but if you want to go at high tide you need to be ferried across the small gap. For many holiday makers this makes it just that bit too inconvenient as a place to stay.

Penzance is just a stones throw away, as are Helston, Newquay and Saint Ives, so as a base for your cottage holiday, you will have ample places to explore and visit.

Marazion is on the edge of Mount's Bay, and is an excellent holiday cottage location, because of its history as a tourist location. The beaches eventually lead to Land's End and the Lizard Peninsula, and you have all the facilities you need to enjoy a happy holiday.

There is plenty of choice when it comes to booking your holiday cottage in Marazion, because this part of Cornwall has long been a place where people turn their quaint cottages over to paying guests. There are all shapes and sizes of holiday cottage, so when you are booking your cottage make sure that it meets your needs and the needs of your family if you are bringing them.

The number of beds is an obvious factor, but the distance from Marazion town centre, the beaches, the A394 (the main road passing just by Marzion and the main way of getting to the town) and whether there are other other facilities like a cleaning or maid service, a washing machine and dryer, an oven and microwave, a dishwasher, several bathrooms, toilets, shower rooms, and so on...

Also, you have to find out, how remote is your holiday cottage? You might want somewhere peaceful away from the sound of the town, or you may want a cottage that is nearer to the bustling centre.
